She fought her battles the best she could & she wears her scars as wings
— Kayla Hayes

About Kayla Hayes

Kayla Hayes is 25 years old and an advocate, speaker and author. She rose like an angel and walked away from a past filled with childhood sexual abuse and teenage domestic violence. The tragedies she endured stole her identity, her self-worth, and her confidence. She had two choices: succumb to them or rise from them. Kayla chose to rise — and wear her scars as wings.

She Rises

Overcoming Sexual Abuse & Domestic Violence

Next Generation Indie Book Awards Winner, 2022

As a child, Kayla Hayes was sexually abused. She experienced unhealed hurts and self-hate. That led her to an abusive boyfriend who bit off 85% of her lip. While healing, Kayla made the decision to rise — and wear her scars as wings. She partnered with author Alisa Divine, to tell her story and provide this handbook for healing.

What People Are Saying

"I love Kayla's transparency and vulnerability. It is because of these two things that her story reaches so many and that she is able to advocate! I read through this book quickly. At some moments horrified by what she has gone through. She truly is an example of God giving beauty for ashes. She continues to rise from the ashes like a majestic phoenix turning her pain into power. Her heart is revealed through the pages. She is so genuine. Buy this book!"

I’m so moved by this book.”
